產(chǎn)品介紹This gene encodes a member of the fascin family of actin-binding proteins. Fascin proteins organize F-actin into parallel bundles, and are required for the formation of actin-based cellular protrusions. The encoded protein plays a critical role in cell migration, motility, adhesion and cellular interactions. Expression of this gene is known to be regulated by several microRNAs, and overexpression of this gene may play a role in the metastasis of multiple types of cancer by increasing cell motility. Expression of this gene is also a marker for Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin's lymphoma. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 15. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Function:
Organizes filamentous actin into bundles with a minimum of 4.1:1 actin/fascin ratio. Plays a role in the organization of actin filament bundles and the formation of microspikes, membrane ruffles, and stress fibers. Important for the formation of a diverse set of cell protrusions, such as filopodia, and for cell motility and migration.

Subunit:
Associates with beta-catenin. Interacts with PLXNB3.

Subcellular Location:
Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cell projection, filopodium. Cell projection, invadopodium. Cytoplasm, cytosol. Note=In glioma cells, partially colocalizes with F-actin stress fibers in the cytosol.

Tissue Specificity:
Ubiquitous.

Post-translational modifications:
Phosphorylation on Ser-39 inhibits the actin-binding ability of fascin.

FSCN1為細(xì)胞骨架肌動(dòng)蛋白的一種，該蛋白有蛋白結(jié)合,橋連、肌動(dòng)蛋白絲結(jié)合的功能。 主要參與細(xì)胞增殖、肌動(dòng)蛋白細(xì)胞骨架組織和生物發(fā)生、肌動(dòng)蛋白絲束形成。Fascin也是一種actin結(jié)合蛋白，它的功能是把F-actin聚集捆綁成束，與細(xì)胞的運(yùn)動(dòng)相關(guān)。病理情況下，各種惡性腫瘤細(xì)胞經(jīng)常高表達(dá)Fascin。
